Bordeaux urban area – associations’ annual

Implementation of an association management software solution for Bordeaux Métropole

The Bordeaux Urban Area implemented a software solution for managing associations in its region. The project is based entirely on open source technology that enabled the local authority to carry out large-scale pooling operations by deploying the solution across all communities to replace current solutions.

Context and challenges

The consumer-oriented solution had to incorporate security issues (RGS) and accessibility issues (RGAA).

  • Achieved using fixed iterations and Agile sprints
  • First solution operational in September 2017
  • Definition of technical architecture
  • Mock-up / Web design
  • Functional and technical specifications
  • Completion, testing and validation
  • Production assistance

Solutions

  • Incoming demand management with JIRA
  • Web design (mock up/graphic guidelines) managed in-house
  • Proposed test management via the Squash tool, implementation of a test strategy, test tool structuring and automated testing using simulators
  • Use of the Bordeaux Métropole physical platform for carrying out integration tests under actual operating conditions
  • Tests using different types of physical media (smartphone and tablet)
  • Specific test strategy to meet Accessibility Standards (RGAA) via a compliance matrix
  • Using a Continuous Integration Server (SONAR, JENKINS) for non-regression testing
