InfoReorg® for DB2 on z/OS

A Significant Reduction in Reorganization Costs

InfoReorg:

• Performs ultrafast reorganizations
• Runs all the necessary processes in parallel instead of sequentially (index reorganization, Full Image Copy, Runstats).
• Considerably reduces the reorganization time using a proprietary sorting technique developed by Infotel (Partial Index Scan).

In addition, because InfoReorg runs outside DB2, it substantially reduces the CPU and Elapsed times required for reorganization.

Very Easy to Use

A user-friendly ISPF interface to:

• Select the DB2 objects to be reorganized
• Generate and store the suitable JCL.

InfoReorg manages the resources required for regeneration.

A Simple Process Flow

1. The data in the Tablespace and/or Indexes are read, sorted, then rewritten after reorganization.
2. A Before Image Copy can be made.
3. One or more post reorganization Full Image Copies are created.
4. Reorganization is recorded in the DB2 catalog.
5. A catalog update file is created for the RUNSTATS
6. A discard file is created.
7. An execution report is output.
